The KAL Initiative are delighted to announce a fun Valentines event for those of you with a social conscience!
Come along and support the love that has stood in good stead for Katherine Zappone and Ann Louise Gilligan for the last 25 years. Get your priorities in line and put the KALentines Night fundraiser as a definite date in your diary.
On the night after Valentine's, the stars will be out in force to support Katherine and Ann Louise (KAL), who are to appeal a decision by the High Court not to have their Canadian marriage recognised in Ireland. Katherine and Ann Louise, who have been together for 25 years believe their love is equal to heterosexual love, and should be legally recognised, just as heterosexual love is, with marriage.
David Norris will MC the night in The Sugar Club. Acts lined up include Karen Egan, Zrazy, Shaz Oye and The Soul Glow Gospel Choir.
There will also be a DJ and a late bar as well as loads of fabulous prizes to be won!

Saturday, 21st October THE GEORGE PRESENTS the official premiere of
FILTHY GORGEOUS: THE TRANNYSHACK STORY
with special guest
San Fran Super Tranny, Heklina
featuring LADYFACE
Doors 8pm
Screening at 10pm
All proceeds to Kalcase, fighting for equal rights for same sex partners
If it's outrageous, offensive, grand, and glamorous, it must be another Tuesday night at Trannyshack. Since 1996, this infamous San Francisco nightclub institution has celebrated bad taste with some of the most mind-blowing drag performances on earth.
Conceived by drag superstar Heklina as a way to honor friends lost to AIDS, Trannyshack has become a fertile testing ground of creativity where nothing is sacred in the name of living, breathing, and occasionally blood-soaked art.
Director Sean Mullens' unflinching documentary recounts the colorful and hilarious history of Trannyshack, including eye-popping performances from fabled theme nights such as "Cracked Out Divas" and "Weapons of Ass Destruction." With appearances from Trannyshackers past and present including Justin Bond from Kiki and Herb and Ana Matronic from the Scissor Sisters, FILTHY GORGEOUS: THE TRANNYSHACK STORY can't be missed.
To coincide with the first day of the KAL Case hearing in the High Court, a gathering of support will take place on Tuesday, 3rd October at 1:45pm (assemble at 1:30pm).
The gathering is being held to show support for real equality and for the recognition of diversity of relationships and families in Ireland.
Katherine and Ann Louise are taking their case against the Revenue Commissioners and Ireland through the courts; this dignified gathering is intended to display solidarity for Katherine and Ann Louise, and to show the political leaders in the houses of the Oireachtas the public's support for legislative change to recognise all relationships and family forms existing in Ireland today.
Participants are invited to bring along a flower to symbolise hope, love and diversity. It is intended, then, that these flowers be gathered to form a bouquet to be presented to the party political leaders in Dáil Éireann.
Above all else - All are welcome to attend!
